With a focus on abstract art, I aim to create an aesthetic experience that inspires and stimulates the viewers’ creativity without imposing an idea, letting their eyes and imagination travel through different areas of the artwork, allowing feelings and emotions arise from this visual dialogue.
To do so I paint layers combining geometric and organic shapes with contrasting colors, creating depth, movement and a sense of floatation.
Among my artistic influences are masters such as Frank Stella, Ellsworth Kelly, Victor Vasarely and Joan Miró, to name just a few.
I gather inspiration from the things I like the most in life, such as music and nature which are probably the most important supports in my creative process.
My color palette and shapes reflect my childhood in Brazil often exposed to mid-century modern design from the 1950s and 1960s and my adulthood in the US where I have been living for over two decades and keep exploring American art movements such as Minimalism, Hard Edge Painting and Post-Painterly Abstraction.
